Chief Richard Bickerstaff

Chief Bickerstaff began his Law Enforcement Career in 2001 where he became a member of the Lineville Police Department's Reserve Program. He was hired as a full time officer with Lineville in 2002. Chief Bickerstaff graduated from the North East Alabama Police Academy (NEALEA) in 2003. He operated the K9 unit within the department until 2006 when he was moved to the Investigations Division. In 2006, he was awarded Officer of the Year by the Exchange Club of Clay County. In 2009 Chief Bickerstaff was promoted to Lieutenant where he served until February of 2021 when he became the Chief of Police for the City of Lineville.
